To receive e-mail alerts of the most recent articles in a journal requires setting a Journal Alert in an EBSCO database.
Steps to Set up a Journal Alert

1. Select an EBSCO database from the library’s database page.
2. Select the Publications button located on the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.
3. Type in the journal title in the Browse Publications window.
4. Select the desired journal title.
5. On the right corner of the journal record select the blue link Alert and choose to create a Journal Alert.
6. You will be prompted to login. First-time users will need to click on I'm a new user. If you already have an account login, login in and go to Step 12.
7. As a new user, you will need to fill out the screen. You will be asked to give:
First Name
Last Name
E-mail Address
User Name (This is the user name you will use to sign in to My EBSCOhost. You will be prompted for a different user name if the one you have chosen is already in use after step 9.)
Password (Five-character minimum, no spaces)
Retype Password
Secret Question
[Select One] Mother's maiden name? Father's middle name? Favorite book? Favorite Pet's name? City of birth? Last 4 digits of credit card? Used to help identify your account if you forget your user name or password.

8. Click on the Submit button
9. Upon successful submission, the screen will show that your account has been created and showing your user name.
10. Click Ok button to proceed to login as a personal user.
You are now ready to set the journal alert.
11. You will return to the journal alert screen for that journal. You will be prompted for specific guidelines for your alert.
In the Run Alert for field -- select how long the journal alert should run:
o One month
o Two months
o Six months
o One year (default)
When this alert is about to expire, you will receive an e-mail asking whether you would like to renew the alert.
In the E-mail Address field -- enter the e-mail address you want the alert notification(s) delivered to. (You must enter an e-mail address in this field, if only it is your own.)
You will be asked for:
the subject line for the e-mail,
the format for the e-mail (plain text/HTML); and,
whether you want the e-mail to include a link to the journal's table of contents, or links embedded within the e-mail message .
It will ask if you would like to include the query and frequency of the alert in the e-mail.
When completed, click on the Save button.
12. It will return a screen to verify your setting of the journal alert. Select Continue.13. You are returned to the journal’s publication record and Journal Alert set will appear in red in the right hand corner of the record.

When new issues of this journal are added to the database, you will now receive an e-mail that will provide you with a list of the articles added, accompanied with links to access the articles.
On the same screen, you will see: My Folder has items. This folder stores your journal alerts and other options you may choose to explore with your EBSCO account.
14. Click on Sign Out at the top of the page or click on Publications to continue to select additional journals for setting a journal alert.
